    Slow cooker English roast recipe.

My flavorful slow cooker English roast features a juicy beef roast slow-cooked to perfection in a tomato-based broth infused with rosemary.

This easy slow cooker pot roast recipe might just be the most flavorful pot roast you could hope to craft, with minimal effort. As your English beef roast braises in the slow cooker all afternoon, the connective tissue breaks down and transforms this tough cut of meat into a melt-in-your-mouth tender roast that the whole family will love.

    • Sweet Onion - A yellow onion also works.
    • Garlic

    • Worcestershire sauce
    • Fresh rosemary - Fresh thyme would also be great.

    How to make it

Make this slow cooker English pot roast recipe by first seasoning the English roast with salt and black pepper on all sides. Place the meat in the slow cooker.

In a small dish, stir the flour and tomato paste together. Then add the beef broth in splashes, whisking it into the tomato mixture. Repeat until all of the broth has been added.

Pour the tomato mixture into the slow cooker and add the sliced onions, crushed garlic cloves, Worcestershire sauce, and fresh rosemary. Cook on high for 4 hours, or on low for 8 hours. The roast is done when it is fork-tender.

Serve with the cooking liquid over mashed potatoes.

    Storing & Reheating Leftovers

Leftover pot roast should be kept in an airtight container and stored in your refrigerator for up to one week. The leftovers can be gently reheated by simmering the roast with the sauce on the stovetop, or microwaving individual servings until warmed through.
