Cure your cookie dough craving with this delicious chocolate chip cookie dough dip packing all of the classic cookie dough flavors you love, but with a lighter texture that is perfect for dipping. The best part is, this easy dip can be prepared in 5 minutes with a handful of simple ingredients!
What is it?
Chocolate chip cookie dough dip contains the rich flavor of edible cookie dough and is prepared with all of the same main ingredients as your favorite chocolate chip cookies, with two exceptions. There are no raw eggs or raw flour in this tasty dip, cream cheese is used instead to make it deliciously smooth and creamy.
This sweet treat is perfectly paired with sweet crackers like animal crackers or honey graham crackers. Although attacking it straight-up with a spoon is also fine by me. This is a must-try for any lover of raw cookie dough.
Ingredients and Substitutions
- Butter
- Brown sugar - White granulated sugar can also be used with a dribble of molasses.
- Vanilla extract
- Cream cheese
- Powdered sugar
- Mini chocolate chips - Chocolate chunks or regular sized milk chocolate chips can be substituted. You can even use other add-ins like toffee bits.
- Graham Crackers - Chocolate graham crackers, vanilla wafers, or animal crackers are also great for serving. Pretzel rods are great for a sweet and salty combo.
How to make it
To make this chocolate chip cookie dough dip recipe begin by melting your butter and dark brown sugar together in a small saucepan or skillet, until the sugar has dissolved. This will give the creamy dip a smoother texture.
Once dissolved, remove the pan from heat and let the mixture cool. Then beat your cream cheese and powdered sugar together in a large bowl or stand mixer.
Finally, combine the butter and brown sugar mixture with the cream cheese mixture and mix in your chocolate chips. This easy dessert dip can be served immediately, or made in advance.
Storing Leftovers
Leftover cookie dough dip should be stored in an airtight container, or covered in plastic wrap, in the refrigerator and enjoyed within one week. This is a great dip to make in advance for your next party because the leftover dip will continue to taste great throughout the week without the texture degrading.
