Chocolate flavored marshmallow fruit dip recipe. #fruit #dessert #dip

This classic marshmallow cream cheese fruit dip is wonderfully light and fluffy and infused with a touch of chocolate and vanilla. Perfect for dipping apples, strawberries, or serving with your favorite fruit trays.

Is there anything better than the first bite into freshly picked fruit? Invigoratingly tart, juicy, with a quick crisp snap. Well, that was a trick question. Sorry. Every sweet treat is better with an inciting marshmallow dip to pair with it, right?

    Marshmallow fruit dip

This is a great dip to serve at a baby shower, holidays gatherings, birthday parties, and anywhere else people are having a good time. It makes an everyday great snack or special treat kids will love. It is even perfect for packing in lunches for a delicious school snack.

What is Marshmallow Cream Cheese Fruit Dip?

My classic marshmallow fruit dip is a great pairing for your favorite fruit because it is the perfect combination of light, creamy, and sweet - without being too sweet. This easy recipe contains a mixture of cream cheese, whipped topping, marshmallow fluff, cocoa powder, and a splash of vanilla extract. There is no cooking required, everything is simply mixed together. This delicious dip can be made in advance and stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.

    Best Fruit for Dipping

I think apple slices are one of the best pairings for a marshmallow fluff fruit dip because their crisp texture provides a nice contrast to the light and fluffy dip. However, I love serving this sweet dip with a fruit platter of strawberries, pineapple, and bananas too. I promise, you really can't go wrong with any kind of fruit. Heck, you don't even need to use fruit. Eating this easy fruit dip straight up with graham crackers is amazing too!

    Ingredients Needed

The simple ingredients required for this recipe are planned out specifically to make your shopping list easy. You will be able to find cream cheese, whipped topping, and marshmallow fluff packaged in the exact quantities needed for this recipe while shopping at most grocery stores. So don't worry, even though the recipe quantities are in ounces, you don't need to bust out a kitchen scale to measure weights.

    How to Customize this Dip

There are a lot of ways to customize this easy fruit dip recipe. Both the vanilla and cocoa powder quantities can be eliminated completely or increased as desired to fit your tastes. The current amount of cocoa powder gives the dip a subtle chocolate flavor, but this can be ramped up if you would like it more pronounced. You could even use chocolate syrup instead of powder.

Another way to customize your marshmallow fruit dip is with the cream cheese. Instead of using plain cream cheese, grab a flavored Philadelphia cream cheese, such as strawberry cream cheese. It will add a completely different twist to the dip, but still taste phenomenal.

You can even add sweeteners to take this simple dip in a different direction. Maple syrup or honey would both work well. Otherwise, brighten the dip up with a splash of lemon juice, cherry juice, or even orange juice.

Finally, feel free to add toasted coconut or crushed nuts for a little crunch.

    Equipment

    • Hand mixer

    Ingredients

    • 8 ounces cream cheese (softened)
    • 8 ounces whipped topping (thawed)
    • 7 ounces marshmallow fluff
    • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
    • 2 teaspoons cocoa powder

    Serving

    • 4 sliced Honeycrisp Apples (or your favorite fruit)

    Instructions

    • Using an electric hand mixer, beat together softened cream cheese, whipped topping, marshmallow fluff, vanilla extract, and cocoa powder in a large bowl until well blended.
    • This can be served immediately, or made in advance and stored in the refrigerator prior to serving.
    • Serve with sliced apples, or your favorite fresh fruit.

    Notes

It is best to have the cream cheese and whipped topping at room temperature or they will not blend as easily.
This can also be made in a stand mixer, but I feel clean up is easier with a hand mixer.
