If you are looking for movie night snacks your whole family will love, you need to try this S'Mores Popcorn recipe! The popcorn is drizzled with a sweet chocolate marshmallow sauce and sprinkled with graham crackers, chocolate chips, and marshmallows for a delectable treat!
As a child, there is only one movie I ever recall my father bringing our family to the theaters to see: The Land Before Time. Not only was I excited to go to the theater with my whole family, we were going to watch a movie about DINOSAURS! I had a mild obsession with dinosaurs at the time, Triceratops in particular. I even went so far as conducting my own archaeological dig going in the back yard. I was fairly confident I’d find a Triceratops skull buried behind our garage. Call it a child’s intuition.
I’ll save you the suspense: After shoveling three feet of dirt, I discovered nothing and declared the dig a bust. However, I did get plenty dirty, which was a satisfactory consolation prize.
Now as a father myself I enjoy being able to pass these fond memories onto my children as well. This past Saturday my wife was out of town for the day and it just the kids and I hanging out. After an afternoon spent playing in the park and riding bikes, I figured there would be no better way to end the day than making a special movie night snack, S’Mores Popcorn, and watching my favorite childhood movie with Collin, my six year old stepson. So we headed to Walmart for Pop Secret Popcorn and the rest of our supplies!
Collin joined me in the kitchen to prepare our movie night snacks, including, of course, S’Mores Popcorn. The recipe for this is fairly simple, so it was great to have him be able to help with everything. Though, you really should have seen the look on his face when he took the first bite! Needless to say, it was a success.
We then settled on the couch for some father son bonding time, as I bridged a great memory from my childhood with what hopefully becomes a great memory for him too.

S'Mores Popcorn Movie Night Snacks
Ingredients
- 1 bag Pop Secret Homestyle Popcorn
- 10 oz bag mini marshmallows
- ½ cup chocolate chips divided
- 4 tablespoon butter
- 9 graham crackers broken into 1" chunks
Instructions
- Pop popcorn in microwave according to package instructions.
- Spread popcorn evenly over laid out parchment paper and sprinkle graham crackers on top.
- Place butter, ¼ cup chocolate chips, and half of the bag of marshmallows in a large bowl and microwave till butter has melted. Stir mixture to fully incorporate.
- While the butter mixture is still hot pour mixture evenly over popcorn.
- Sprinkle remaining chocolate chips and marshmallows on top.
- Add S'Mores Popcorn to a large bowl and gently stir to fully combine.
