Warning: This Easy Chili Cheese Dip Bread Boat is ridiculously easy, and fun! Seriously, who doesn't like a good bread bowl with a cheesy soup? No one you should invite to your game day party, that's who! Well, I took it up a notch and created a classic game day dip served in a crispy baked bread boat! The recipe is easy to master, and the final result is a surefire appetizer that will impress your friends! Plus, the best part is when the chili cheese dip is almost gone you get to devour tantalizing chunks of chewy chili cheese soaked bread!
This is the perfect appetizer for the Big Game not only because the bread boat resembles a football, but also because using fresh ingredients with WOLF chili makes it quick and easy to prepare! Your guests will be looking to tackle this as soon as you get it in the game!
OK, I promise no more bad game day puns!
You'll score big by heading over to Walmart to intercept a fresh baked Italian Loaf for your Easy Chili Cheese Dip Bread Boat.
Doh! That was another bad football pun, wasn't it? Let's try that again...
Take your team down the field to Walmart and purchase a freshly baked loaf of Italian bread from their bakery.
OK, I guess I just can't punt on a bad pun.
You may not have known, but Walmart's bakery sells French loaves of bread that are baked fresh in-store everyday. These are the perfect size for this Easy Chili Cheese Dip Bread Boat recipe. Plus, the thick chewy crust is sturdy enough to hold up to the cheesy dip during the 30 minutes of baking.
I also recommend adding chopped green onions to the top of this dip after baking. Not only do I love the taste of them, but it will add an appealing pop of color to your appetizer! You'll notice many of my recipes use green onions, it is one of my favorite garnishes so I tend to always keep them on hand. I'll let you in on my favorite kitchen hack to ensure I always have a supply of fresh green onions on hand:
Store the cut ends in water! Seriously, green onions are the easiest thing in the world to re-grow. After you use a stem, save the root end and place it in a clear glass/jar of water and set it on the window sill. In no time at all new green onion stalks will start emerging! You'll never have to buy green onions again! Expect to see fresh growth within a day or two, and 3-4" stalks in a week!
This Easy Chili Cheese Dip Bread Boat recipe is going to be mild enough to appease any palate, however if you want to crank up the Scoville units you can do what I do and mix in a few teaspoons of my Ghost Pepper Hot Sauce! It perfectly compliments the flavors in this dip, and brings a welcomed punch of pain!
