Each summer we take family trips to Door County, Wisconsin, AKA the Hamptons of the Midwest, for a weekend getaway.
Getting the family a frothy root beer float is one treat I always dip into my wallet for! There is just something quintessentially summer about enjoying a root beer float that makes me want to share the experience with my kids as well.
I remember as a child there was an A&W® Root Beer stand my grandma would occasionally take us to. As a child, my idea of a root beer float could only be root beer and vanilla ice cream. However, as an adult I like to get a little more creative with my floats. Dr Pepper® Cherry is my favorite soda to drink, so it is my natural choice when I am looking to add a creative twist to the traditional root beer float. I also love to get my family involved, and let Collin help me build my concoctions! He is only too happy to taste test!
Check out Archer Farms ice cream at Target when you build your floats, they have a variety of unique flavors available that will compliment your favorite soda, plus they have 48oz packages as well. I used their Peanut Butter Caramel ice cream to create my Dr Pepper® Cherry float, however if you are unable to locate that specific flavor, chocolate would work exceptionally too!
Right now Target has a Cartwheel Offer giving you 5% OFF 2L or Mini Cans of A&W®, Sunkist®, 7UP®, Canada Dry®, Dr Pepper®, and more. Plus, be on the lookout for a limited time in store display highlighting the ‘Buy any two Archer Farms 48 oz Ice-Creams, Get a FREE 2L or 6PK Mini Cans A&W®, Sunkist®, 7UP®, Canada Dry® and More’. It is the perfect time to craft floats with your family too! These offers run till July 30th.
