My childhood dream came true last week when the folks at Culver's invited me to their headquarters in Sauk City, Wisconsin for a 9 a.m. sampling of their six new flavors of the day they are unleashing on the public starting TODAY! Now, if there is anything I love, it is people feeding me decadent treats at 9 a.m., but this wasn't just any ol' treat, this was Culver's six new rich and creamy frozen custard flavors that weren't even announced to the public yet. Yeah, it pretty much tasted like unicorns and happy.
What is Frozen Custard?
Frozen custard is ice cream's cooler older brother. Creamier than traditional ice cream, this silky treat is crafted from fresh milk and pasteurized eggs, and served at a warmer temperature than ice cream so you can savor each bite without freezing your tastebuds!
What are Culver's New Flavors of the Day?
I am a firm believer money can't buy happiness, but it can certainly buy Culver's frozen custard, and I don't believe I have ever seen a sad person eating frozen custard. Sad people eat ice cream. They are likely sad because it isn't frozen custard. So cheer up, because on the 10th of each month Culver's will be introducing a new flavor of the day for you to savor.
Every day each Culver's restaurant features vanilla and chocolate frozen custard, plus one rotating flavor of the day. These are always freshly made, in small batches, at each restaurant, all day, every day. However, starting today, May 10th, Culver's is adding new flavors to their Flavor of the Day program for the first time since 2012! What are these new flavors, and when can I enjoy them? I have the rundown below:
May 10th - Cappuccino Cookie Crumble: Coffee lovers rejoice! This creamy concoction channels the flavors of tiramisu with vanilla frozen custard blended with espresso, crushed sugar cookies, and swirls of chocolate blended in.
June 10th - Blackberry Cobbler: This was my personal favorite! The bright flavor of blackberries jump out of the vanilla custard in each tantalizing bite, while a cinnamon granola crumble provides a crunchy contrast to the ridiculously creamy custard. Absurdly delicious!
July 10th - Chocolate Pretzel Crunch: Pretzels in frozen custard? Genious. Crisp Bavarian pretzels are blended into vanilla frozen custard along with swirls of novelty chocolate and salted caramel.
August 10th - Peanut Butter Cookie Dough: Peanut butter flavored anything is always a winning dessert in my mind. Blending peanut butter frozen custard with roasted peanuts and delectably soft chunks of chocolate chip cookie dough brings this treat to the pinnacle of comfort food!
September 10th - Dark Chocolate Decadence: Chocolate lover overload! If you love chocolate, this one needs to be on your radar. Crafted from four premium cocoas, deep chocolate flavor explodes from each bite. Try it to believe it!
October 10th - Peanut Butter Salted Caramel: Ribbons of salted caramel dance among crunchy roasted peanuts in a peanut butter frozen custard. Enjoy this by the spoonful!
