- 8 slices white bread (thick sliced)
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons milk
- ½ pound deli ham
- ½ pound deli turkey
- 4 slices Swiss cheese
- ¼ cup mayonnaise
- ¼ cup Dijon mustard
- powdered sugar and raspberry jam for serving
Gently warm the deli meat in a large skillet set over low heat. Then set aside.
In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk. Then, working in batches as needed, dip one side of the bread in the egg mixture, and place in a skillet set over medium heat. Top the bread with cheese, ham, and turkey. Then cover with a lid while the cheese melts and the battered bread turns golden brown.
Spread mayo and mustard on one side of a second slice of bread, then dip the other side of the bread in the egg mixture. Place the battered bread in the skillet, and flip the other half of the sandwich on top of it. Cover the skillet with a lid and cook for a couple of minutes, until the second slice of bread is golden brown.
Serve the warm sandwich immediately with a dusting of powdered sugar and a side of raspberry jam for dipping.
