Place chopped onions and ground beef in a saute pan set over medium-high heat and cook until the hamburger is well browned and the onions are tender, breaking apart the meat into small crumbles as it cooks.
Add minced garlic and cook for an additional 2 minutes, or until fragrant.
Add the uncooked elbow macaroni, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes with liquid, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and black pepper and stir to combine.
Lower heat to medium low and bring to a simmer. Simmer for 10-12 minutes, or until noodles are tender and the sauce has thickened.
Stir in the shredded cheese and serve immediately.
Notes
If the sauce has not thickened to your liking you can simmer it longer. It will thicken more the longer it cooks. If it gets too thick before the noodles are tender, additional liquid can be added to thin it out.
