- ½ cup mayo
- ½ cup sour cream
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 clove garlic minced
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons Louisiana hot sauce
Cajun seasoning
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
- ¼ teaspoon dried oregano
- ¼ teaspoon dried thyme
In a large bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise and sour cream until smooth. Then add mustard, minced garlic, lemon juice, and hot sauce. Stir to combine.
Add all of the cajun seasonings to a small bowl and mix them together well, then add them to the large bowl with the mayo mixture.
This dip can be served immediately, but the flavor will improve if it sits in the refrigerator overnight.
You can substitute one tablespoon of store-bought Cajun seasoning, but that is typically loaded with salt, which throws off the flavor of the dip.
If you love the idea of a spicy dipping sauce, feel free to use extra hot sauce, or swap out for a hotter sauce.
