- 14 ounce smoked sausage
- ½ cup BBQ sauce
- ½ medium sweet onion
- 1 medium red bell pepper
Preheat broiler to high heat.
Slice sausage into 1" inch bites, and chop onion and peppers into similarly 1" sized pieces.
Place sausage, peppers, and onions on a baking pan lined with foil and place on the top oven rack. Let broil for 9 minutes or until the sausage starts to burn.
Remove from oven and place sausages, peppers, and onion in a large bowl and toss with BBQ sauce.
Pour the mixture back onto the baking pan and broil again for 4 minutes, or until the BBQ sauce threatens to burn.
Remove from the oven and serve.
Food will burn under the broiler quickly. Pay close attention to it! Different ovens will have different cooking times depending on the heat coming off their broiler. Just broil it until it threatens to burn, then you are done.
This is a great recipe to make on a charcoal grill too!
Rather than using a serving platter, the bbq sausages can be kept warm in a crock pot when serving at a party.
