Smoked Brats

Smoked brats are possibly the easiest bratwurst to prepare, this method is almost full-proof, yet each juicy bite is completely soaked in flavor.

Ingredients

  • 6 bratwursts
  • wood chips for smoking

Serving

  • 6 brat buns
  • sauerkraut
  • chopped onions
  • condiments of your choice

Instructions

  • Heat your smoker to 225 degrees and add your favorite wood chips. (apple wood is a good choice if you are unsure what to use)
  • Place the raw bratwurst inside the smoker and let cook until the internal temperature of the brats reaches 160 degrees. This should take 1 hour and 45 minutes - 2 hours.
  • Serve immediately with your favorite toppings.

Notes

Store leftover brats in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
