BBQ Turkey Loaded Sweet Potatoes

- 4 Sweet potatoes
- 1 lb lean Ground turkey
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 3 Dashes Liquid smoke
- 2 teaspoon Brown sugar
- ¾ teaspoon Table salt (or to taste)
- ½ teaspoon Black pepper
- ½ teaspoon Smoked paprika
- ½ teaspoon Garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon Onion powder
- 1 Dash Cayenne pepper
- ½ cup grated Smoked cheddar cheese
- ⅓ cup water
Pierce sweet potatoes with a fork multiple times on each side then cook the sweet potatoes in the microwave for 6 minutes, or until tender. They can be prepared in the oven as well if desired.
Brown turkey in a non-stick skillet over medium high heat and crumble with a wooden spoon.
Add all seasonings to the turkey along with ⅓ cup of water. The water will help the seasonings disperse evenly. Continue cooking until water evaporates.
Slice sweet potatoes in half lengthwise and top with ~⅓ cup of ground turkey. (Alternatively, you can scoop some flesh out of the sweet potatoes if you want more room for fillings)
Sprinkle lightly with smoked cheddar cheese and place under the broiler for a couple minutes, until melted.
Remove from oven, drizzle with BBQ sauce to taste and sprinkle with chopped green onions.
